President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Baku city on November 11 for an official visit at the invitation of President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The President's press service reported this.
At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the head of our state was welcomed by the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, and other official personalities.
The visit program includes the participation of the leader of Uzbekistan in the 29th session (COP29) of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change events.
The President of our country will also hold a series of meetings with leaders of foreign states and international organizations.
Within the framework of COP29, our delegation will conduct high-level events dedicated to combating land degradation and desertification, developing ecological education, and advancing the climate agenda with a focus on the role of youth.
In the specially organized National Pavilion of the Republic of Uzbekistan, more than 20 additional events are planned to address the socio-ecological problems of the Aral Sea region, develop a "green" economy, implement renewable energy and water-saving technologies, ensure food security, preserve biodiversity, and other directions.
