According to the Hydrometeorological Process Impact Service under the agency, on May 1, 11, and 12 of this year, hail cloud impact operations were carried out in the Kosonsoy and Yangiqoʻrgʻon districts of Namangan region. A total of 57 "Alazan-6" anti-hail shells were used.
It is noted that despite the impact on convective clouds, short-term hail events may still occur in some areas.
According to information about the "Alazan-6," this system is one of the rocket devices used in hail control since the 1960s, serving to reduce hail formation by influencing processes within the cloud.
According to "Uzhydromet," the Hydrometeorological Process Impact Service operates in Samarkand, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions, in addition to Namangan.
Experts note that in recent years, due to climate change, the number of short-term but intense precipitation events, including hail, has been increasing.
