The southern regions of Thailand are experiencing the most severe floods in the last 30 years, reports the "World" News Agency.
Several days of heavy rain have resulted in flooding in many areas of Thailand's 8 southern provinces, hospitals have been closed, and thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes. The area's transportation, including train services, has completely collapsed.
All 16 districts of Songkhla province, where the water level has risen up to 1.5 meters, have been declared natural disaster zones. In this area, 49,000 households have been submerged and more than 95,000 people have been affected. 2 civilian deaths have been recorded.
According to the Thailand Meteorological Department, the storms and floods are not expected to stop in the coming days. The kingdom's eastern regions have also been warned to prepare for strong monsoons and rain.
