The leader of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Moscow region was deprived of Russian citizenship. This was reported by Oxu. Az publication.
It has been reported that Elshan Ibrahimov was summoned to the local police department, where his Russian passport was confiscated. This information was confirmed over the phone by the leader of the regional national-cultural autonomy of Azerbaijanis in the Moscow region.
Ibrahimov did not answer the question regarding the reason for the decision but stated that he would provide an explanation after returning to his homeland, Azerbaijan, in a few days.
According to a source from RBK, Ibrahimov was deprived of citizenship on June 18 for “actions threatening the national security of the Russian Federation”.
Additionally, the Orenburg court decided to detain Azerbaijani “criminal authority” Zaur Nakhichevansky (Shipilov) for at least two months, reports the local Orenburg Media publication. He is charged under Article 210.1 of the Russian Criminal Code – holding the highest position in a criminal hierarchy.
Nakhichevansky was born in Orenburg in 1985 and is a citizen of Russia. According to the publication, his father – Azerbaijani “criminal authority” Bayram Talibov was killed in Moscow in 2006.
