An explosion occurred at a gas station in Rome, injuring more than 20 people. Sky News reported.
The explosion, which took place in the eastern Prenestino district of the city, resulted in at least 21 people being injured. Five of the injured are in critical condition.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at 8:00 local time. A fire started at a gas station owned by the Eni company after a truck collided with a pump. Firefighters and police were called to the scene. A significant explosion occurred while firefighters were attempting to extinguish the fire.
As a result of the explosion, nearby buildings were damaged, and a fire broke out in a warehouse where court documents are stored. A nearby metro station was temporarily closed by order of law enforcement authorities.
