South Korea's former defense minister Kim Yong Hyun attempted suicide in a detention center in the eastern part of Seoul. This was reported by Yonhap here.
Currently, there is no threat to the former defense minister's health.
"Around 23:52 on December 10th (19:52 Tashkent time), a duty officer discovered him (Kim Yong Hyun) attempting suicide in the bathroom of the waiting room before an order was issued," said Shin Young He, the head of Korea's Ministry of Justice's penitentiary service.
According to him, the staff immediately intervened, opened the door, and the former minister ceased his suicide attempt. He is currently under surveillance, with no threat to his health.
