During the repulsion of another wide-scale air attack conducted by Russian military forces, an F-16 fighter jet belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force crashed. As a result, the pilot died. Ukrainian officials reported this yesterday, June 29, on Sunday.

Russia struck Ukrainian territories with hundreds of drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles overnight. According to local officials, the attacks resulted in damage to residential buildings and essential infrastructure, with at least 12 people sustaining injuries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to Washington and Western allies for more proactive assistance in strengthening the air defense system.

“We need every F-16, every Patriot. Russia's air pressure is intensifying,” — Zelensky stated in his appeal.

As a reminder, the Russia-Ukraine war began in February 2022, and during this period, Moscow has especially intensified air attacks during the night and early morning hours.
