Law enforcement agencies have confiscated a total of 111 kg of narcotic substances in rapid operations conducted.
In a rapid operation conducted in the Samarkand region, three brothers - citizens of Tajikistan born in 1980, 1982, and 1989 - were detained for transporting 10 kg 894 gr of "opium" substance into the Urgut district territory via secondary routes from the Panjakent district of Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Furthermore, as the rapid operation continued, a female born in 1982, a criminal associate of theirs living in the Urgut district, was also detained, and 13 kg 85 gr of "opium" substance was officially seized from her residence in a procedural order.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals, and they have been taken into custody as a precautionary measure.
In another case, during rapid search operations conducted in the part of the "Uzbek-Tajik" state border passing through the "Turon" MFY territory of Tashkent region's Bekobod district, it was discovered that 3 containers of glue containing a total of 8 kg 381 gr of "opium" and 59 kg 296 gr of "hashish" were floated down the Dalvarzin canal from Mastchoh district of Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Moreover, continuing the rapid operation, four citizens living in the town and district of Bekobod, born in 1985, 1989, 1996, and 1997, who came to the border area intending to receive these narcotic substances, were detained. It is important to note that two of them are previously convicted persons.
Currently, criminal proceedings have been initiated against them under part 2 of Article 246 and part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code, and they have been taken into custody as a precautionary measure.
In another case noted in the Bekobod district, within a field approximately 400-500 meters away from the "Uzbek-Tajik" state border, a sports bag left by previously unknown individuals was found containing 3 kg 942 gr of "opium" and 15 kg 473 gr of "hashish", and it was officially seized in a procedural order.
Currently, criminal proceedings have been initiated under part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code regarding the situation, and necessary measures are being taken to identify the individuals who left behind the narcotic substances.
