NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that the alliance members would provide over 50 billion euros in security assistance to Ukraine in 2024. This was announced by Alison Hart, acting press secretary of the North Atlantic Alliance.
It was disclosed that Ukraine's partners in NATO had exceeded their commitments taken at the alliance summit held in Washington in July. At that time, they promised to provide at least 40 billion euros in military assistance to Ukraine by 2024.
According to the NATO Secretary General, more than half of the final sum was provided by the European Union members and Canada.
Before the meeting of the alliance's defense ministers, which will take place on Thursday, 13 February, NATO member states were presented with a report on the security assistance provided to Ukraine.
