The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, discussed the pressing issues of further developing and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia during a telephone conversation that took place on February 21. This was reported by the Presidential press service.
The results of the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May of the last year were reviewed in accordance with the "roadmap" approved by the leaders.
The ongoing effective dialogue and exchanges at various levels were highly praised. Special attention was given to ensuring the growth rates of the main indicators in trade-economic and investment cooperation, as well as supporting industrial cooperation projects in the territories of the two countries.
The expansion of humanitarian cooperation, primarily in culture, art, science, education, including the training of engineering personnel, health care, and sports, was noted with great satisfaction.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia also exchanged views on international agenda issues and discussed the plan for upcoming events.
