The Tashkent Interdistrict Economic Court has halted construction works being carried out at the address Yusuf Khos Hodjib street, 28 in Yakkasaray district. This was reported by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts.
It has been reported that the lawsuit was filed by the Agency for Cultural Heritage on the initiative of the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan, due to legal violations threatening the Uzbekistan Museum of Applied Arts.
"The museum is considered an important object of cultural heritage and a notable example of Tashkent modernism. Protecting such places is important not only for preserving history but also for maintaining the architectural appearance of the city," the report states.
