The President of Uzbekistan supported the expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation with Russia.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, on March 14th. The urgent issues of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to our country’s leader.

Special attention was paid to expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation to monitor the implementation of agreements and treaties reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May of the last year.

Our country’s leader emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for the second meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission and its conduct in Uzbekistan, involving wide participation from the regions of both countries.

The necessity for parliaments to actively support and accelerate the priority projects in trade-economic and investment cooperation, labor migration, and cultural-humanitarian exchange was noted.
