The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by Carol Miller, a member of the Congress of the United States of America and participant of the parliamentary caucus on cooperation with Uzbekistan, on March 17 here.

Issues of further development and expansion of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the USA were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, the member of parliament conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the USA, the leadership of Congress, and members of the caucus on Uzbekistan to the head of our state.

The high level of bilateral cooperation achieved was noted with great satisfaction. Active political dialogues and interdepartmental exchanges continue. In recent years, the volume of trade and investments has increased several times, and business cooperation is strengthening.

The Webster University and the American Technology University are active in the city of Tashkent.

In addition, mutually beneficial cooperation is being carried out in priority areas such as transport, customs, migration, culture, and others.

Carol Miller highly appreciated the results of the reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan, including the strategy of economic modernization, strengthening democratic institutions, primarily the parliament, and ensuring gender equality.

Special attention was paid to expanding parliamentary cooperation to support and promote economic and investment projects, including in the fields of mining, industry, energy, and agriculture.

The importance of establishing partnership relations between the regions of Uzbekistan and the states of America was noted.

Current regional issues and the situation in Afghanistan were also discussed.
