On March 20, the Andijan international airport accepted its first passenger flight from the "Silk Avia" airline here. The aircraft, carrying 63 passengers, landed at 12:13 Tashkent time. According to tradition, the aircraft was welcomed with a water salute, and passengers were greeted with the sounds of karnay and surnay.
As previously reported, the airport has begun accepting flights. At present, "Silk Avia" operates two weekly flights from Tashkent to Andijan on Tuesdays and Thursdays using ATR-72-600 aircraft. Plans are also in place to restore international flights in the future.
We remind you that on March 15, the airport completed the first phase of its reconstruction, which included a significant portion of the aerodrome complex, namely the construction of a new 4E category runway that is 3300 meters long and 60 meters wide, a taxiway, and a stand with three aircraft parking spots.
