A ceremonial event was held at the Kuksaroy Residence to mark the 80th birthday of a bright representative of national pop art, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Farrukh Zokirov. It was attended by state and public figures, representatives of culture and art, creative intellectuals, and members of the general public.
The event particularly highlighted the enormous contribution of the Zokirov dynasty to the development of national music and vocal art. Specifically, the art school founded by Karim Zokirov and the rich creative legacy of Botir Zokirov were recognized as part of our people's spiritual wealth. Farrukh Zokirov was noted as an artist who worthily continued these traditions and elevated national pop music to a new stage.
Today, the artist's name is inextricably linked with the "Yalla" ensemble, which has been performing on stages across our country and the world for 55 years. It was emphasized that hundreds of their songs have taken their place in the "golden fund" of our national culture.
During the ceremony, in recognition of the artist's many years of fruitful work and his contribution to the development of our culture, he was awarded the Order "For Outstanding Merit." It was also announced that Children's Music and Art School No. 7 in the Yashnabad district will be named after Farrukh Zokirov.
