US leader Donald Trump raised tariffs on Chinese goods from 104 percent to 125 percent. He announced this on his page on the social network "Truth Social."
"Based on China's disrespect for global markets, I will immediately raise the US tariff on China to 125%," Trump said.
The US leader also expressed hope that Beijing will understand in the near future that the era of "embezzlement of the United States and other countries" has ended.
The US is postponing tariffs for 90 days for 75 countries that have applied for negotiations. A rate of 10 percent is applied during this period.
