The World Trade Organization (WTO) announced that tariffs introduced by US President Donald Trump will lead to a decline in international trade and a slowdown in global economic growth this year.
The WTO previously expected a 2.7% increase in international trade in goods, but according to the current forecast, this figure will decrease by 0.2%. The organization's Director-General Ngozi Okondjo-Iweala expressed deep concern about the severance of trade relations between the US and China.
According to him, trade between these two countries could fall by 81-91%. This will lead to the separation of the two largest economies and will have serious global consequences.
