The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and the delegation led by the Special Representative of the President Abdulaziz Komilov delivered an official invitation to Donald Trump from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during their visit to the US. This was announced by the US Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Jonathan Henick, as reported by "Zamon.uz".
"The Trump administration is pleased with this invitation and is taking it seriously," said the ambassador during a meeting with journalists on April 24. “I think now is the most appropriate time for the US president to visit Central Asia,” he added.
Henick also did not rule out the possibility of this visit occurring within the framework of the "C5+1" summit. Considering that the US president has not yet made an official visit to Central Asia, this visit would be of historical significance.
