The defense ministers of the USA and India discussed the attack in Kashmir and the heightened tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad over the phone. Hegset expressed the USA's solidarity with India and reaffirmed its right to self-defense. He also assured that Washington would fully support India in its fight against terrorism. Earlier, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also had a phone conversation with the Indian Minister of External Affairs Jaishankar here.
Rubio reiterated Washington's commitment to collaborate with New Delhi in the fight against terrorism and invited India to reduce tensions with Pakistan, as well as to cooperate in maintaining peace and security in South Asia.
