According to Washington mass media reports, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has conducted telephone conversations with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. This was reported by zamon.uz here.

 During these conversations, the US called on the two countries to understand each other and collaborate for the purpose of ensuring stability in the region. Rubio, in particular, reaffirmed US support for India in the fight against extremism. At the same time, he expressed his expectation for Pakistan to collaborate openly with India in the investigation of a recent terrorist act in Kashmir, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives.

 This call is being assessed by the international community as an important step towards reducing violence in the region and restoring diplomatic dialogue.
