Reports about the cutting of Zarafshan fir trees at the base area spread on social media within the territory of the Boysun State Forestry. The regional Environmental Department provided information on the situation.
It is noted that during the inspection carried out by the regional Environmental Department, it was discovered that a total of 53 Zarafshan fir trees of various diameters were illegally cut down, and 3 fir trees were damaged to the extent that they would cease to grow in the Kengdala forest section of the Boysun state forestry, which includes the “Shappa”, “Movirli”, “Qora buloq”, “Chorshanbi”, and “U'rikli” arrays.
According to the information, no measures within their authority were taken by the forestry employees regarding these violations.
In accordance with the decision No. 290 of October 20, 2014 (Appendix 14) of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the amount of damage caused to the plant world was calculated for this situation.
Since the amount of damage caused to nature exceeds 300 times the basic calculation amount, the collected documents regarding this incident were submitted to law enforcement agencies for taking appropriate measures.
