Asia or Central Asian countries are expected to be the area where the “Kosmos-482” spacecraft, falling out of orbit, crashed into the Indian Ocean, reports Roscosmos.

It is noted that the space device entered the dense layers of the atmosphere at 9:24 Moscow time (11:24 Tashkent time) and fell 560 kilometers west of Middle Andaman Island in the Indian Ocean.

The “Kosmos-482” device is considered a part of the Soviet Union's interplanetary program aimed at studying Venus, launched on March 31, 1972. Its launch purpose was to investigate Venus’s dense atmosphere, temperature, pressure, illumination, and surface composition. According to Roscosmos, due to a malfunction in the propulsion block, the device remained in Earth's high elliptical orbit and gradually descended, crashing into the planet.
