Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan border control points "Tajen" and "Dovut Ota" have been closed for another 4 months due to repair works. This was reported by the Customs Committee.
According to the report, the restrictions introduced on February 1st of this year on the movement of individuals, light vehicles, buses, and freight vehicles with a permitted total weight not exceeding 3.5 tons through the border control point "Tajen" (of the Republic of Uzbekistan, "Dovut-ota") have been extended until September 1st of this year.
The extension of the restriction period is due to extensive works being carried out at these crossing points, such as laying engineering networks, major repairs of buildings, and installation of metal structures, aimed at ensuring the safety of individuals and vehicles, and accelerating construction and reconstruction works by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Freight vehicles with a permitted total weight exceeding 3.5 tons may carry out their movement through the "Tajen" (Kazakhstan) – “Dovut Ota” (Uzbekistan) border control point.
