The Prosecutor General's Office and the "Uzbekistan Space Agency" have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
A memorandum of cooperation has been signed to ensure ecological safety in the republic, to fight against violations, to carry out inspections, to conduct pre-investigation checks and investigatory activities, to implement aerospace technologies, and to use transparent and high-precision data through the State Space Monitoring System.
According to it, the parties are now set to systematically exchange information to identify the level of ecological risks and problems, to expose and prevent violations in various directions, including:
– monitoring the reduction of green areas and deforestation;
– detecting unauthorized seizures of lands in the forest fund and the construction of illegal buildings and structures;
– monitoring illegal excavation works, including in riverbeds and protected water areas for non-metallic materials;
– monitoring deviations from the project during the cleaning of river beds from accumulated non-metallic materials and the reinforcement of banks;
– carrying out aerospace geodesy to determine the actual volume of mined minerals at non-metallic mineral quarries;
– monitoring the overflow of existing waste storage areas and illegal waste dumps;
– monitoring the burning of stubble and residues on fields freed from cereal crops (after harvesting).
