In Russia, a bill has been developed that prohibits migrants from owning several subscriber numbers. The TASS publication reported this.
"The necessity of restricting foreign citizens from owning more than one subscriber number is considered an important step in increasing the security level in the country. It is aimed at protecting national interests and creating a safer environment for citizens. Adopting this law will provide an effective response to modern threats and challenges, and will allow for the monitoring of foreign citizens' communications," says committee head Yaroslav Nilov.
For information, starting from January 1, 2025, foreigners will be prohibited from registering more than 10 subscriber numbers under their names. Foreign citizens and stateless persons can only enter into contracts with communication operators by personally visiting the office, presenting an identity document, and providing biometric data on a mandatory basis.
