The geopolitical tension in the Middle East has escalated again: the Israeli military has delivered another round of strikes on strategic sites in Iran. Tehran is appealing to the international community in response to these attacks.
On June 14, 2025, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced strikes on a range of military infrastructures in Iran. In particular, targets included the Mehrabad Airport near Tehran and objects belonging to the Ministry of Defense in the Isfahan province. This has been reported by official representatives of the Israeli army and local sources.
Moreover, IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced in a statement on social media that a strike was also carried out on a nuclear facility in Isfahan. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed some damages to the Isfahan nuclear center as a result of the attack on June 13.
According to Iran's official news agencies, the attacks resulted in the death of seven high-ranking officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Among them were leading experts in missile programs and drone development.
In a statement issued in Arabic and Persian, Israel advised Iranian citizens to immediately leave areas where military facilities are located and not to return until further warnings are given.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi addressed the international community, stating that if Israeli attacks cease, Iran will also stop its strikes. “These measures are only aimed at self-defense,” he noted in an interview with the IRNA agency.
Against the backdrop of these events, the conflict between Israel and Iran could escalate to a new level. Analysts emphasize that this situation brings the need for nuclear safety, regional stability, and diplomatic dialogue in the Middle East back to the agenda.
