A person who brought 16 kilograms of narcotic substances from Tajikistan to Uzbekistan was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment. This was reported by the State Security Service.
It was announced that on November 12, 2024, during a prompt action carried out by the SSS in the Namangan region, a Lacetti car was stopped in the territory of Pop district. When the car was inspected in the presence of impartial witnesses, it was found that the luggage of a passenger, born in 1984, contained 3 kilograms 887 grams of “opium” and 9 kilograms 839 grams of “hashish”, and these findings were duly documented.
During the pre-investigation examination actions, it was discovered that he had colluded with a citizen of Tajikistan to smuggle narcotic drugs from the neighboring country and to sell them for a substantial profit, and that he had received these substances in the Buka district of Tashkent region.
Furthermore, within the scope of the criminal case initiated on this matter, investigative activities continued, and in August-September 2024, narcotics delivered by a Tajik drug dealer to the territory of Buka district and hidden by the concerned person in his own land plot located in Dangara district, which included 1 kilogram 902 grams of “opium” and 857 grams of “hashish”, as well as 1 “Makarov” pistol, 2 magazines, and 18 cartridges were also procedurally documented.
The Pop district court, according to the Criminal Code's articles 28, 246-sections (smuggling) 1 and 2, as well as 25, 273-section (actions aimed at the illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, or other handling of narcotics, their analogs, or psychotropic substances, as well as their illegal distribution) part 5, found the citizen guilty of committing these crimes and condemned him to 15 years of imprisonment.
