In 1959, a citizen and his son born in 1979, living in a household in the Olmazor district, were found to have 3,615 boxes of medicinal products with a total value of over 1 billion UZS during an inspection conducted in their basement, which were documented in procedural order.
Preliminary investigations revealed that these individuals illegally imported medicines into the country and distributed them to clientele in the capital after purchasing them at lower prices from regions within the valley.
According to the conclusion of the "Pharmaceutical Products Safety Center", these medicinal products are not registered in the state registry, lack certification of conformity, and were not stored under the required conditions.
Currently, criminal proceedings have been initiated against the citizens under part 3 of article 186³-"a" of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.
Furthermore, during an operation conducted in collaboration with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, 57,407 medicinal products of 456 types, 835 counterfeit boxes of 18 types, and one drug preparation device intended for sale were found in one of the pharmacies in Tashkent city.
According to experts' conclusion, the total value of the drugs amounts to 3.5 billion UZS. Among them, 160 types of medicinal products are not registered in the state registry, 274 types lack a certificate, 50 types are of poor quality and expired, and 7 types were identified as counterfeit.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the pharmacy officials and other individuals under part 3 of article 186(3)-"a" of the Criminal Code regarding this matter.
Relevant investigative actions are currently ongoing.
