During the events carried out by law enforcement agencies in May of this year, the activities of a hidden community of the jihadist religious extremist movement were identified.
The community leader, U.A., born in 1981 and residing in the city of Andijan, gathered around him 12 individuals and formed a community. They congregated in various tea houses in the city intending to join the international terrorist organization “Tawhid and Jihad Brigade” in Syria in the future. Additionally, it was revealed that they had collected funds in the form of a “Baitulmal” for their supporters.
During the search operations conducted in the homes of the community members, various religious extremist literature and other material evidence were obtained.
Regarding this case, criminal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are currently being carried out.
