According to the legislation, a procedure for the recovery of online loans obtained through fraud has been established. This is reported in the legislative database lex.uz at this link.
According to it, if a fraud situation occurs during the remote online loan application process and a loan is taken out in a citizen's name, the citizen submits an application to law enforcement authorities.
After that, the internal affairs bodies carry out a pre-investigation check, inquiry, or preliminary investigation actions regarding the situation.
If, as a result of the investigation, it is determined that the loan was obtained through fraud and the citizen is found to be a victim, the relevant decision or court ruling is sent to the credit institution.
Based on this, the credit institution stops calculating interest, fines, and penalties on this debt and does not collect the principal debt from the victim.
If funds have previously been collected from the citizen for this loan, these funds will be returned to the victim's bank card or specified account within 15 days based on a court decision.
