The case of S.I., the head of "G.S." LLC, who illegally extracted a sand-gravel mixture, was considered in the Okkurgan District Court for Criminal Cases of Tashkent Region. Read more.
For reference, on the night of November 6 to 7, 2024, a joint night raid was conducted by the Tashkent Regional Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the regional prosecutor's office, and law enforcement agencies. During the raid, it was discovered that a sand-gravel mixture was being illegally transported from the protected area of the Chirchik River.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the sand-gravel mixture was being delivered and dumped at a stone-crushing plant owned by "G.S." LLC. State inspectors calculated the significant environmental damage caused and forwarded the collected documents to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
The Okkurgan District Court for Criminal Cases of Tashkent Region found S.I., the head of "G.S." LLC, guilty under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime penal colony. Additionally, a large fine was imposed on the offender as compensation for state damages.
