A resident of the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region, who attempted to sell land inherited from his father and held in the local government reserve for half a billion soums through an online platform, was prosecuted. The fraudster was fined 70 million soums for this act.
It was reported that the individual, aiming for personal material gain, arbitrarily seized a 0.48-hectare plot in the "Nushkent" neighborhood of the Jum-Jum village in Bakhmal district and attempted to sell it for 500 million soums on the "Olx" online trading platform.
The resident posted an advertisement stating, "There is a 100-square-meter garden plot in Bakhmal, selling it for 500 million soums." When contacted, the resident claimed there were no issues with the cadastral documents.
Subsequently, the resident agreed with a buyer for 485 million soums and received the money at an auto service center under the "State Services Center" in the Jizzakh city area. At that moment, the individual was apprehended with material evidence by officers from the Jizzakh Regional Department of the Prosecutor General's Office and the regional DIA.
The case regarding this act was reviewed on July 31, 2025, in the Dustlik District Court on Criminal Cases. The judge examined the fraudulent attempt to illegally sell state land and found the resident guilty under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code, imposing a fine of 70 million soums.
