During his visit to the city of Turkmenbashi, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the national leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The parties discussed issues of expanding strategic cooperation based on mutual trust.
During the meeting, the head of state congratulated Berdimuhamedov on organizing the UN conference on landlocked developing countries at a high level. The conversation also touched upon the implementation of agreements reached during the April meeting in Samarkand, bilateral trade, cooperation in industry and transport, as well as the "Shavat-Toshovuz" cross-border trade zone project.
It was noted that mutual trade volume has reached $600 million since the beginning of the year. Views were also exchanged regarding the upcoming seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian leaders to be held in Tashkent in the near future.
