Three girls went to a water reservoir in Ohangaron and drowned. Two of them died, while one was rescued. This was reported by the press secretary of the Prosecutor General, Hayot Shamsutdinov, to Darakchi.uz.
According to reports, the girls, residents of Angren city, had come to visit their twin friend living in Ohangaron. The host girl took her friends for a walk near the Ohangaron water reservoir. They stepped into the shallow part of the water. However, due to the sandy underwater terrain, they were unable to get back. Despite attempts to save each other, two of the girls drowned.
The incident occurred on July 28. Around 2:20 PM that day, the duty unit of the Ohangaron District Police Department received a report that girls swimming near the shore of the Ohangaron water reservoir had disappeared without resurfacing. The victims were identified as D.P. (born in 2006), D.A. (born in 2009), residents of Angren city, and N.E. (born in 2006), a resident of Ohangaron district. Two girls drowned, while one was rescued.
During search operations conducted by the Ohangaron District Department of Internal Affairs, the body of D.P. was found around 8:00 PM on July 28, and the body of N.E. was found the following morning on July 29. Forensic examinations have been ordered to determine the causes of death.
Currently, pre-investigation procedures are being carried out by the district prosecutor's office regarding the incident.
