The Russian Ministry of Education opposed the proposal to charge fees for school education for children of foreign labor migrants. This was announced by Alexander Reut, head of the Department of State General Education Policy and Preschool Education Development at the ministry.
It was noted that according to the Russian Constitution, all individuals residing in the country, including foreigners, have the right to education. He emphasized that this right is universal and inalienable.
For reference, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Social Policy, had previously proposed a bill to restrict free education for children of foreigners.
