On August 3 of this year, at around 23:50, the Uchtepa district police department received a report about an attempted theft of a Paynet ATM installed on Beshkayragach Street during a citizens' gathering in the "Khurshid" neighborhood, according to the press service of the Tashkent city police department.
It was noted that due to the well-organized and thorough investigative work of the rapid response officers who arrived at the scene, three suspects—A. Shahzod, T. Farrukh, and Z. Zabikhulla—were apprehended.
Reportedly, the trio wore gloves and covered their faces with headgear while moving around in a gray Tracker vehicle with its license plates removed. At the scene, they attempted to lift the ATM and place it in the vehicle's trunk but dropped it due to its weight. The loud noise of the falling ATM drew the attention of nearby residents, prompting the suspects to abandon the damaged ATM and flee the scene.
In connection with this incident, the Investigation Department of the Uchtepa district police department has initiated a criminal case under Article 169 (Attempted Theft) in conjunction with Article 25 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The investigation is ongoing, according to the report.
