How significant is Mirziyoyev's visit to Beijing? What new prospects does this event open for entrepreneurs and, in general, for the city government of Tashkent in terms of expanding partnership relations?

Deputy Mayor of Tashkent City Sharof Rahmonov answered this question:

— I can say with confidence that the visit of our esteemed President to Beijing will undoubtedly play an important role in taking the relations between our two nations, which have long been close partners, to a new level. In particular, the events held in an expanded format within the framework of the SCO will be of international importance. In turn, there is also a high level of international interest in this.

I must emphasize that on the eve of these high-level meetings, the Tashkent City administration visited several provinces of the PRC and established very close cooperation with Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hefei, and many other cities.

Partnership agreements, roadmaps, and plans of measures for development and comprehensive strengthening of cooperation were signed in these regions.

Within the framework of the visit, the Uzbekistan-China business forum was held. Chinese entrepreneurs showed great interest and actively participated in this event. This indicates their desire to enter our market. Evidence of this is that we, the Tashkent City administration, signed investment agreements and contracts worth almost 4 billion US dollars within the framework of this business forum.

It is worth specifically highlighting the agreement signed with Chinese companies planning to implement investment projects in the construction of trade and entertainment complexes and hotel complexes. Particularly, infrastructure projects that are important for our city will be implemented. This includes, in particular, projects for the reconstruction and modernization of the drainage system, reconstruction of overpass construction, reconstruction of automobile roads and, in general, the reconstruction of transport infrastructure.

I would also like to specifically highlight the project for constructing new substations for the Tashkent city power grid. The first stage involves the construction of six new substations, with subsequent expansion, as well as the implementation of a project to create a 200-megawatt power station in Tashkent city.

Furthermore, the package of bilateral investment agreements includes investment projects aimed at implementing projects for the construction of large amusement parks, so-called "Disneylands," and aquaparks in a part of Tashkent city. This will not only serve the interests of our people but also increase the flow of foreign tourists to the capital.
