Pakistan recognized Armenia

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Pakistan signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.

For reference, Pakistan had been the only country that had not yet recognized Armenia as a sovereign state.

The reason cited for this was the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia.
