According to the DIA of Navoi region, the incident occurred around 2:00 AM on August 22, 2024, in the "Ziyokor" neighborhood. S.A., a resident of Karmana district born in 1994, who had gone to a restaurant with acquaintances to eat, went out to his car to make a payment. At that moment, a restaurant employee—M.U., born in 2004—asked him to pay the remaining amount.
Under the influence of alcohol, S.A. struck M.U. in the face during a verbal altercation, causing a bodily injury. Law enforcement agencies established that the suspect is not an Olympic champion; however, the person who came to the restaurant with him was E.S., born in 1995, a two-time Paralympic champion.
It is reported that E.S. was in the car salon at the time of the incident and later intervened in the dispute, attempting to defuse the situation and calling for emergency medical assistance for the victim.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 277 (Battery) of the Criminal Code in relation to the incident; S.A. has been detained in accordance with procedural rules. The investigation is currently ongoing.
