US President Donald Trump announced that he will have a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days. He mentioned this on September 7 in response to journalists' questions.

Trump emphasized his dissatisfaction with the war in Ukraine and his efforts to end the conflict. "I am not happy with the situation there. I am dissatisfied with everything related to the war," he says.

Trump also said that several European leaders will visit the US. The meetings will most likely discuss the issue of sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine.

Trump noted that communication with Putin in the near future would be an important step. At the same time, he expressed readiness to strengthen sanctions against Russia.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant and Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg assessed Russia's recent actions as factors escalating the war. According to Ukrainian officials, on the night of September 7, Russia launched 810 drones and 13 missiles, resulting in the destruction of a government building and casualties among the civilian population.

It should be recalled that Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov also confirmed the possibility of a second round of talks between Trump and Putin.
