The former Vice President of the United States and former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is now left without official protection.
According to the Los Angeles Times, on September 6, the Los Angeles Police Department stopped providing for her security.
This was due to public dissatisfaction and complaints about the inefficient use of police resources.
The police union described this as "protecting a multimillionaire, former political candidate at the expense of the safety of ordinary citizens — an absurdity."
Previously, on September 5, the Los Angeles Times newspaper reported that Kamala Harris had been stripped of state protection — that is, the U.S. Secret Service — and that local police had temporarily taken over the responsibility of guarding her.
This decision was made by Trump at the end of August, and the former vice president is now left without any official protection.
