On September 13, 2025, a traffic accident occurred at an unguarded railway crossing between the Chortok and Uychi stations.
According to a report from "Uzbekistan Railways" JSC, the driver of a Gentra passenger car, having grossly violated traffic rules, attempted to cross the tracks in front of an approaching train.
Reports indicate there were six people in the car: five women and a small child. As a result of the powerful collision, no one in the car survived.
The train engineers applied the emergency brake, but it was impossible to prevent the accident. The train sustained minor damage.
This incident once again raises the issue of drivers' non-compliance with basic safety standards.
