On June 20 of last year, it was reported that a two-year-old girl had died in a private kindergarten located in the "Ushoqtepa" neighborhood of Kasansay District, Kashkadarya Region.
According to court documents, the 31-year-old kindergarten director would pick up the children from their homes and then bring them back. She did not have a driver's license.
On the day the tragedy occurred, she had brought seven children to the kindergarten, but the teacher responsible for checking the attendance list was not at work that day. Distracted by the children's noise, the director lost focus and failed to check whether all the children had gotten out of the car.
As a result, the two-year-old girl was left behind in the car and remained trapped inside without air for half a day. The child's body was found on the back seat of the vehicle.
The Qarshi City Court found the defendant guilty under Part 3 of Article 116 of the Criminal Code and sentenced her to 3 years of deprivation of liberty.
