Reports have been circulated in a number of Turkish media outlets (including the NOW TV channel) and on social networks (on the "Uzbeks in Turkey" channel) about the death of 17-year-old Uzbek citizen Samirjon Sattorov as a result of a traffic accident.
According to the information, it became known that S. Sattorov was involved in a traffic accident in Istanbul on April 5, 2025, sustained serious bodily injuries, and was hospitalized. Unfortunately, despite the medical treatment provided, he passed away on April 15.
The deceased was buried in Samarkand region on April 17.
It should be noted that the family members of the deceased did not contact the Consulate General about this matter after the incident occurred.
According to the information obtained, the Turkish citizen who caused the accident fled the scene but turned himself in to the police the next day expressing remorse. During the investigation, narcotic substances were found in his blood. However, he has not been detained, and a court hearing has been scheduled for October 2, 2025.
The Consulate General is currently providing the necessary consular and legal assistance to the victim's family members.
