According to the publication "Rostimees," the find was discovered in the village of Auvere, located in a border area of Estonia with Russia.
The sappers who arrived at the scene confirmed that the bomb was a "wartime" aerial bomb and reported that its weight was approximately 250 kilograms.
Specialists plan to dispose of the explosive on-site. Safety measures are currently being taken, and the surrounding population has been pre-warned about the explosion sounds.
According to information, in the summer of 1944, battles took place around Auvere between German and Soviet troops.
The discovered bomb dates precisely from that period, and the fact that it has been preserved on the surface for over 80 years has astonished the local population.
