Xinhua reports that China's XPeng electric vehicle manufacturer has launched mass production of flying cars. The production process is being carried out at the world's first smart factory in southern China.

The company has developed a detachable electric aircraft for the modular vehicle named the "Land Aircraft Carrier". The plant initially has the capacity to produce 5,000 units per year, and at full capacity, 10,000 aviation modules. When fully operational, one aircraft can be assembled every 30 minutes.

Since the presentation, XPeng has received nearly 5,000 orders. The large-scale delivery of flying cars is planned to begin in 2026.

The vehicle consists of a six-wheeled car and a detachable vertical take-off and landing aircraft. It has automatic and manual control modes, can select an intelligent route, and performs take-off and landing at the push of a button. This vehicle, which is 5.5 meters long, can travel on regular roads and fit into standard parking spaces.
