Olympic champion Lazizbek Mullajonov has been suspended from competitions for 3 years for violating anti-doping rules.
According to the International Testing Agency (ITA), the boxer's sample provided on June 11, 2025, contained the banned substance methasterone metabolite.
Methasterone is an anabolic steroid banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency and is among the substances that increase muscle mass and strength.
Since the athlete did not appeal the decision, his suspension was set at 3 years instead of 4.
Mullajonov's disqualification is effective from July 22, 2025, to July 21, 2028. Furthermore, all his results from June 11, 2025, to July 22, 2025, have been annulled.
The 26-year-old boxer won a gold medal in the 92 kg weight category at the 2024 Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2023 World Championship.
