Vladimir Putin emphasized how human life expectancy has changed throughout history at the "Journey to the World of Artificial Intelligence" conference. According to him, while people once lived 20–35 years, the average age later increased to 35, 45, and 50 years in some countries. Today, in a number of states, this figure has reached 80 years.
Putin also said that Russia has set specific goals for increasing average life expectancy. "Perhaps it is possible to reach 150 years. But it is always in short supply, just like money," he said.
In his opinion, the main issue is not how many years to live, but "how and for what purpose to live." He added that traditional values could provide answers to these questions.
We recall that earlier in September this year, prior to the event in Beijing, Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the possibilities of extending life expectancy with the help of technology. According to Xi's forecast, it is possible to live up to 150 years in this century.
Putin is currently 72 years old. Due to amendments introduced into the Constitution in 2020, he can remain president until 2036.
