Uzbekistan has been recognized as one of the safest countries in the world in terms of the level of terrorist threat. According to the "Global Terrorism Index" for 2025 published by the Institute for Economics and Peace of Australia, the country ranked 90th in this list.
According to the data, in terms of safety level, Uzbekistan has surpassed a number of developed Western countries, including the USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, and Spain. Similarly, Russia, China, Turkey, the UAE, and Tajikistan were also ranked lower than Uzbekistan.
Among the Central Asian countries, it was reported that Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan were ranked around 100th place.
Experts are evaluating this result as a consequence of the systematic measures being taken in the country to ensure security and combat extremism and terrorism. Uzbekistan's high ranking in this index is further strengthening the country's image in the international arena.
