President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on awarding a group of representatives of the field with state awards on the occasion of Press and Mass Media Workers Day.
According to the document, a number of journalists, bloggers, and media representatives were awarded for their contribution to the development of freedom of speech and press in the country, ensuring citizens' constitutional rights in the information sphere, strengthening the principles of openness and transparency in state and public administration, protecting national interests in the international information arena, and widely covering the reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan.
In particular, the "Mehnat shuhrati" Order was awarded to Farhod Abdullaev, host of the "Sevimli" TV channel; publicist Tulqun Kazakbaev; content preparation center specialist Aziza Kurbanova; and Azizakhon Solieva, editor-in-chief of the "Buwayda kuzgusi" newspaper.
Blogger Zuhri Atabekova, TASS agency correspondent in Uzbekistan Valery Biryukov, as well as representatives of a number of publications and TV channels, were deemed worthy of the "Dustlik" Order.
The "Kelajak bunyodkori" Medal was awarded to Kun.uz correspondent Shokhrukh Majidov, founder of the Platina.uz and Pinkod.uz projects Ravshanbek Melikuziev, and author of the "Sinchalak blog" page Mahliyo Tulkinova.
Also, the "Shuhrat" Medal was awarded to a number of journalists, editors, operators, and media workers operating at UzA, Daryo.uz, UzReport TV, "Mening yurtim", "Zo'r TV", "Milliy", and the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan.
Among those awarded by the decree are bloggers, correspondents, editors, TV and radio workers, press secretaries, and representatives of the publishing sector.
The head of state specifically acknowledged the services of representatives of this field in ensuring openness, transparency, and freedom of speech in the country.
